CANCELLED-Organic Field & Facility Tour, Manor

Join SaskOrganics, local organic farmers, and KBI Seed Processing for a tour of crops, compost operation, & a cleaning facility! This field day will visit three organic farms, viewing their wheat, oats, peas, barley, and alfalfa, as well as an on-farm compost operation that makes compost teas. In these casual crop tours, there will be plenty of time for producer-to-producer networking, sharing, and discussion. The tour will wrap up with lunch and a facility tour at KBI Seed Processing.

Itinerary

• 9:00-9:30AM: Registration & Networking, KBI Seed Processing
• Drive to first farm
• 9:45-10:30AM: Rylan Weir’s Farm: Crop tours of wheat, oats, alfalfa
• Drive to second farm
• 10:35-11:10AM: Wes Thomas’ Farm: Compost operation tour
• Drive to third farm
• 11:25am-12:10PM: Kelvin Rutten’s Farm: Crop tours of barley, peas & oats
• Drive back to KBI Seed Processing
• 12:30-1:30PM: Lunch & Networking
• 1:30-2:00PM: Tour of KBI Seed Processing Plant
• 2:00-2:15 or 2:30PM: Networking & Conclusion

Registration

• Pre-registration required for catering purposes. Lunch is beef on a bun plus two salads.
• Dietary Needs: Gluten free can be accommodated by omitting the bun (all other meal items should be safe).
• No refunds. Tickets can be transferred to other guests if notified in advance.
• Zeffy Registration form: At checkout, where it says ‘Add a contribution to keep the platform we use 100% free!’ you do not need to donate their suggested amounts. Simply click the drop down arrow, select “other’ and enter $o or any custom amount of your choosing.
