Itinerary

*While we do our best to bring you the program as advertised, itinerary is subject to change.

*Attendees are encouraged to carpool with other attendees from the Manor Hall.

9:00am – 9:30am: Registration, Manor Legion Community Hall, 22 Main Street, Manor Saskatchewan
9:30am – 9:45am: Travel to first farm, Rylan and Cindy Weir
9:45am – 10:30am: Viewing fields of oats, and oats intercropped with lentils
10:30am – 10:40am: Travel to second farm, Wes Thomas
10:40am – 11:45am: Viewing compost & compost tea operation, viewing field trials with compost vs none
11:45am – 12:00pm: Drive back to Manor Community Hall for Lunch & Networking
12:00pm – 1:00pm: Lunch – Beef on a bun, baked beans, 2 salads and dessert – catered by Rylan and Cindy Weir
1:00pm – 1:45pm: “Selecting for Success: Variety selection for organic production” Presentation by Dr. Michelle Carkner, University of Manitoba, Natural Systems Agriculture Department
1:45pm – 2:10pm: Drive to third farm, Kelvin Rutten
2:10pm – 2:50pm: Viewing Hulless Barley field, ancient variety
2:50pm – 3:20pm: Drive to KBI Seed Processing Facility
3:20pm – 4:00pm: Tour of Processing Facility
4:00pm – 4:30pm: Refreshments & Networking
4:30pm: Conclusion

*Registering by July 2 is greatly appreciated for catering purposes, however we will accept registrations up to and on the day.

*No refunds. Tickets can be transferred to other guests if notified in advance. In the event that this field day has to be cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control, refunds will be issued.
